So yes, Puerto Rico has a double storm/possibly hurricane watch
For those who don't know where this beautiful island stands, go google it
yes, it stands right at the front of the greater Antilles. So we take the first wrath of storms that come across the Atlantic ocean (from Africa).
We've always been threatened by lots of them, but it's been a while since one of them actually touches our land. The last one that hurt us deeply was Georges in 1998. It really was a terrible experience. Lots of families loss their homes, and even worse their loved ones. This was one of the strongest hurricanes for me, the eye of the system entered just a bit, but the sustained winds on that little part went up to 220 mph and according to the meteorologist, something I've never seen before happened... Once the eye entered, it spited in 2,making much more damage than expected.
So this week, we will be experiencing something different. We have a tropical storm called Anna for tomorrow which probably will leave, though I hope not, a lot of floods. And then for wednesday or thursday we'll have Bill, another tropical storm, which by the looks of it, it'll be turning into a strong hurricane before getting to us. So yes, a double threat!
So today, My family and I went to buy some supplies to protect our home and some water and canned foods. I gotta say, you could see the worry on the faces of the ppl, I mean when we got to one of the first stores, as soon as we entered (they were opening at that same moment), there was already NO water!!! People get really overly anxious and hysteric and start buying everything and fighting over things! then we went to a walmart and the lines where soooo long! It's really horrible how ppl start to behave... nothing civilized. I got hit by a guy who was passing by and he didn't even bothered to say sorry or excuse me! Arghh I got so upset! But thankfully we got to buy the supplies and got out of there.
Oh and I almost forgot! We had to change our flight tickets for the other week! so I'll be getting more time with my family. So that means, the freebie charm on my shop is still available! Yay!!!!
